(More customer reviews)I got this Kong inflatable collar for my Jack Russell Terrier, after he had surgery to remove a cyst on his side. The regular cone collar from the vet rubbed his neck (it was a stiff plastic) and he never seemed to get comfortable with it on. I felt terrible putting it on him, and he had to have the stitches in for 10-14 days; so I looked for another option. I got the Kong collar with quick 2 day delivery, and was using it 20 minutes after it came. The inflatable inner-tube type collar is really an inflatable "bladder" with a softer material covering over it. The horse-shoe shape makes it easy to put around the dog's head, and the Velcro easily attaches on top. My dog seemed to like it better instantly, and he could easily walk around, drink from his bowl and jump up on the couch/stairs. It was also easier for him to sleep--since the collar is like a pillow of sorts. Also, the neck measurements for the product were accurate. My Jack Russell's neck was about 11 inches, so I got the medium, which was for 10-13 inches. Perfect. And so far it's kept him away from the stitches and seems comfortable at the same time... I'm thrilled with this product! The only issues he had with it were when he tried to eat from his dish on the floor; it's not an elevated dish, so when he bent down, the collar made it tough for him to reach the bowl. That was easily fixed, though-- I just took the collar off during meal times.
